SEO Spotlight: Ian McAnerin
In October of this year, we at Anduro Marketing Inc. were very excited at the prospect of partnering with renowned Search Engine Optimization (SEO) expert Ian McAnerin. Bringing over a decade of experience in the field to bear, Ian’s contributions to Anduro clients were evidenced immediately, particularly in regard to long time Anduro client, Pharmacy-Online. I recently had the opportunity to discuss the current Search Engine Marketing (SEM) climate with Ian in an attempt to learn and share his perspective on our business.

Consider the Benefits of Regular Maintenance
Regular maintenance of your Search Engine Marketing strategy is critical to the ongoing success of your Internet Marketing efforts. The dedicated team at Anduro Marketing can help you craft and effortless maintenance plan which will continue to ensure strong performance long into the future. Here are some comments by Anduro associates on the importance of implementing regularly scheduled maintenance:
- Search engine optimization - Once done, that's that?
Nice try, but fail. SEO is an ongoing service to some extent. If you’ re employing an SEO firm to rank your website highly, once that’s achieved, great, sit back and put your feet up. Unfortunately you need to consider those other competitors that are also performing SEO to rank over you. How competitive your search terms are will generally dictate how long your high rankings will be sustained. Once performed properly, however, you may not have to worry about it for years. On the other hand, if you are dealing in highly competitive keyword terms, then your website will require constant monthly monitoring and tweaking to maintain its ranking. Pay per Click (PPC) is another story all together. PPC requires constant monitoring or you could lose substantial traffic and/or money, depending on what occurs. You need to ask about this when employing SEO, to find out exactly what ongoing costs may be required and how much you’re really going to pay.

- Maintaining your SEO Edge
The value of long term maintenance for your website marketing strategy is clear. Consider the benefits of regular maintenance on other products such as your car or computer. Both of these high performance devices require regular care by knowledgeable professionals to keep them running in top condition. The same is true for your website. If you stop paying attention to your personal health, it doesn’t take long before problems start to appear, and avoiding regular health care sets the stage for disastrous consequences down the line. In the world of SEO, change is the rule. Search Engines change, customer preferences change, as do your competitors. Staying on top of the game requires regular updates of your website content as well as revaluation of chosen keywords. Remember to use clean coding and to keep a sharp eye on any paid services you use. Regular reports from your SEO consultant can keep you in the know, or there are several software options available to help you stay on track. Save time, money, and effort by approaching SEO as the important investment it is. Dealing with problems only as they occur will undoubtedly result is higher costs while a little vigilance can make your website marketing experience a smooth, profitable one.
