Anduro Is Helping Businesses Achieve High Search Engine Placements

A user who submits a search term to a search engine is presented with a results page: a ranked list of web sites deemed by the search engine to be those most relevant to his search query. People visit sites they can easily find, so the higher a web site ranks on a search engine's results page, the more likely the site is to receive high levels of traffic. One recent study by the Georgia Institute of Technology shows significant traffic occurs only for those sites appearing in the top thirty on a search results list. Attaining high search visibility has become an important reality of successful marketing today. There are other ways to get traffic, but you cannot ignore the major search engines.

How do we do it?

Keywords

The keywords you choose for your web site have a large impact on how your site will perform with search engines. Knowing the right keywords to target is very important. We try to answer the question: "What words are people typing when they are searching for your web sites?" For instance, if your business sells televisions in British Columbia, potential customers looking for your web site will use popular search engines such as google.com or altavista.com and type keywords and phrases such as 'television', 'TVs in British Columbia', 'home entertainment', 'TV sales BC'.

We determine the best keywords by researching Internet usage and compiling a database of terms that people are actually using for searches. Anduro is very systematic in our analysis of potential keywords and combinations of keywords, including how many competing web sites are using those keywords.

Using search algorithms to your advantage

Anduro's experts stay current with the ever-changing search engine algorithms. For instance, Google's order of results is determined by more than 100 factors, including their PageRankTM algorithm. Rather than counting links, PageRank uses the link structure of the Web as a tool to rank web pages in terms of relevance to a particular search query.That's why the number of other sites linking to your site is the single biggest factor in determining high placement with Google.

If you build it (properly), they will come

In addition to keywords, elements of a web site that must be in place to achieve high search engine listings include web site coding, amount of content, links within the web site, number of competitors for specific keywords, and architecture favourable to current algorithms used by various search engines. Many technologies used to build web sites actually hinder search engine positioning, including poor coding, the use of frames, Flash presentations, and dynamically generated pages.
