Kaycee Bearspaw - Raising Funds

The Bearspaw family has raised over 1/3 of the funds needed for their trip to Winnipeg in May.

As you may recall from my last newsletter, Kaycee is a 16-year-old hockey player who has been selected to represent Alberta at the National Aboriginal Hockey Championships in Winnipeg in May. Kaycee’s mother, Ladan House, is raising funds for the trip so that the family can join Kaycee and cheer from the stands.

I have watched Kaycee play and he is good. He is a young, energetic, and talented player. He plays with the Bow Valley Timberwolves. He is the only Indigenous player on the team which I find admirable and inspiring.

I hope that you can join me in making a donation and showing your support.

Terry Sydoryk is Kaycee’s coach. This is what he has to say about Kaycee after coaching him this past season:

“I'm extending Jeff's post into my LinkedIn community, albeit there is quite an overlap ... small world. I read Jeff's post today and it turns out I coached Kaycee this year with the Bow Valley Timberwolves and we just returned from Provincials after winning the League Championship two weeks prior. Huge supporter of Kaycee as a hockey player and a young adult. It's been a great year of hockey for Kaycee and playing in Winnipeg for Indigenous Team Alberta is a great opportunity that I want to support as well (link in Jeff's post).”
